GreatFUL November at Six Flags Great Adventure: A Month of Heart, Community, and Giving Back
Day of Giving: The Heart of GreatFUL November

This November, Six Flags Great Adventure has continued to offer the fun and thrills we all enjoy, while something even more meaningful has been taking place inside the park: a month-long celebration of community, gratitude, and giving called GreatFUL November.

This initiative includes supporting local food pantries, community organizations, hospital groups, and regional nonprofits that assist children and families through volunteerism and by holding in-park events. The goal is to highlight the exceptional work these partners do every day while also providing park visitors with an easy way to support them.

Day of Giving: The Heart of GreatFUL November
The centerpiece of the month was Great Adventure's Day of Giving, one of the most heartfelt days in the park's recent history. On November 15, Great Adventure welcomed over 2,700 children and family members from CHOP, A Kid Again, and Big Brothers Big Sisters for a special day filled with community, connection, and celebration. The event offered a carefree experience with rides, smiles, and moments of pure joy. Families enjoyed complimentary parking, admission, and exclusive ride time in Jr. Thrillseekers before the park opened for the day. The Six Flags team provided catered meals and drinks, allowing families to have a day free from the daily stressors they face.
For many families, it was their first visit to an amusement park. For those who were able to assist, it served as a powerful reminder of the joy and lasting memories created by helping others.

I personally had the privilege of volunteering and assisting with photography for the families attending from A Kid Again. Who's A Kid Again? A quick look at their About Us section shares the following:
"We bring hope, happiness, and healing to children with life-threatening conditions and their families. Since 1995, through the generosity of our volunteers and donors, we've been creating year-round Adventures that allow these children to feel like A Kid Again.
Beyond Adventures, we provide families with practical support to navigate the challenges of a life-threatening condition. Together, our community of families shares strength, stories, and encouragement, offering a safe space for everyone."

I can confidently say that witnessing the attending families' joy, happiness, and radiant smiles, along with the sense of relief they felt from a break in their daily stresses, warmed my heart more than anything I could provide in return.
The level of care demonstrated by the Six Flags team and A Kid Again was awe-inspiring. They organized an early entry to make things easier for everyone. They had guest relations set up in Jr. ThrillSeekers to assist families with any needs that arose throughout the day. There was also an exclusive ride time (ERT) and an incredible variety of food provided by the catering team. From the very beginning, Six Flags management and staff were present to support the event, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable day for these families.

Gratitude as a Core Value
For many of us, visiting Great Adventure is primarily about personal enjoyment. However, through events like the Day of Giving and the month-long celebration of GreatFUL November, the park demonstrates a deeper core value that it aims to express throughout the entire year:
Gratitude for Guests
Gratitude for Partners
Gratitude for the Incredible Families who trust Six Flags with Their Memories
And Gratitude for the Six Flags Team Members who Bring the Magic to Life Every Day
I had a fantastic experience volunteering at the Day of Giving with A Kid Again and Six Flags Great Adventure. It was a heartwarming and uplifting community event as Great Adventure opened its gates to offer a completely free day to many smiling faces who need joy the most.
I want to give massive credit to the Six Flags Great Adventure team, especially Ryan and Mike, and to Ann, A Kid Again's Program Director. Thank you all for the privilege of participating in this wonderful day.
